Meeting the many feeding, safety, and sanitation needs of your baby in your home and on the road

Parenting Tips

Your bundle of joy is on the way. There is no need to delay your enjoyment. Right now, as you are ticking the boxes on your mental and physical checklists of readiness, do it with love. Let no frustrations or roadblocks take you down from the elation of your legacy.

I found so much sweetness in the intricate preparations of all the tiny scale items, accessories and tools for caring for our child’s first experiences in this world. No one is more needy than a baby. Have you ever experienced a needy adult at work and refer to them as a baby? It is an accurate comparison at times.

When it comes to all the bits and bobs of infant care and safety, we need a one-stop Baby Shop to find what we need and the matching replacement components for the myriad of baby-kit items.

  • Getting nourishment in … and out effectively can be challenging. When nursing, it is significantly important for mother and child to have a specific nursing chair or place. This puts the mum at ease and calms your hungry baby. You will need a supply room of baby bottles, bibs, and swaddles to rotate for cleaning.
  • A changing table is important for family sanitary safety. That one location helps to keep the supplies and clean-up in one spot.
  • It will be handy if you can arrange your baby’s bath very near the changing station. The less distance from mess to cleanliness will be best. That leads us to toilet training down the road, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
  • In your baby’s room, the cot and cradle can be accessorised with learning toys that begin to develop their motor skills and keep them entertained as they drift off to slumber….briefly. I found keeping the teething soothers in a sealed container in the chiller very effective and sanitary.
  • No one needs a baby monitor to hear them cry, but they are useful for teaching them layers of independence as they grow. Not to mention the safe feeling that allows you to tend to the household and yourself.
  • Once they get to crawling, your baby gates had better be in place. My mother would pile pillows in a circle on the living room floor. They were too high an obstacle, for a while, but kept us from rolling about too far. A play mat is not a bad idea for the undisclosed gifts babies can deposit in their diapers, at random.
  • As we take them outside and with us while shopping, versatile and simple baby carriers and infant car seats are a requisite for keeping our hands free. Then there is the all-important pram. They need to design these for full function with one hand. Any two-handed locking system is nearly unusable with your bundle in your arms.

This is a lot of accessories already and I didn’t touch on thermometers, bouncers of vital bags to tote them about. None of which are cheap. Click here to find government assistance payments to help bear the financial load of family growth.
